Why Is Wu Yi Tea So Special?June 25, 2008 on 7:32 pm | In wu yi tea | 1 CommentThe secret behind Wu Yi tea is that it is full of catechin polyphenols. In particular Wu Yi and Wu Long tea is rich in epigallocatechin gallate which is also known as EGCG. EGCG is best known for its anti-oxidants contained within it. EGCG also has the ability to prevent the growth of cancer cells, kill cancer cells, and it accomplishes these amazing things without harming any healthy cells within your body. Wu Yi tea is highly effective at lowering LDL cholesterol levels. This process also inhibits the abnormal formation of blood clotting. French Red Wine contains high levels of resveratrol which is a polyphenol that prevents any negative effects of smoking cigarettes and having a high-fat-diet. In a recent 1998 study over at the University Of Florida, researchers came to the conclusion that EGCG which is found in high quantities in the following tea: Wu Yi Tea, Wu Long Tea, Oolong Tea, and Green tea. The EGCG in the Wu Yi tea was found to be at least twice as powerful as resveratrol which was found in the french red wine. Why does only Wu Yi, Wu Long, and Green tea have these amazing health properties? Oolong, Wu Yi and green tea are all made from the leaves of a special plant: Camellia Sinensis plant. Another major factor that sets Wu Yi tea apart from the rest is that manner in which Wu Yi tea leaves are processed. Wu Yi tea leaves are steamed which allows the EGCG compound found in the Wu Yi leaves to be protected from the oxidizing effects. In contrast your normal tea that you can purchase at any supermarket do not have these special abilities and are NOT effective in preventing and diseases, and do not make you healthier. Can Wu Yi tea be harmful to me? As of today there are absolutely no negative side effects from drinking Wu Yi tea. The only possible thing that Wu Long tea and Oolong tea can harm your body is through insomnia. This is only due to the fact that some Green tea’s and Wu long tea’s contain caffeine. But it is a scientific fact that the majority of tea’s out there contain much less caffeine that coffee and soda products such as coca-cola. Other than that there should be no negative side effects from drinking Wu Yi tea and there are only good things that can come from drinking a cup of Wu Yi tea every day. Not only does Wu Yi and Wu Long tea taste amazing but it can help you lose weight as well as prevent major diseases such as cancer and ulcers. Update: Technorati has asked this blog to claim itself and requires us to link to them. I will copy and paste the code here. Technorati Profile How To Make Oolong TeaJune 25, 2008 on 2:42 pm | In wu long tea | No CommentsOolong and Wu Yi tea are normally generated using the exact same process. How Wu Yi tea and Oolong tea is brewed depends greatly on the manufacturer and this simple processing method will effect how the tea actually tastes. Wu Yi tea and Oolong is typically processed using the following steps but not exclusively: 1. Wilting- This is the process of drying the Wu Yi tea leaves to get rid of any moisture or water. The Wu Yi and Oolong tea leaves can be dried either by laying out in the sun and evaporating or just a simple air dry. 2. Cooling- This is done immediatly after the Wu Yi tea leaves are dried. On normal occasion the Wu Long tea leaves will just be placed in a nice cool area which is blocked from any UV rays so the Wu Long leaves can be chilled to perfect temperatures. 3. Yaoqing- This step is an ancient Chinese secret that the people who harvest Wu Yi tea leaves have been doing for thousands of years. The Wu Yi Tea leaves are gently tossed around so the edges of the tea leaves become a little bit bruised. By this process of bruising the WU Yi tea leaves this creates more contacting surface which helps the process of oxidation. 4. Shaqing- This stops the oxidation of the tea leaves. Over-oxidised tea leaves become very strong in flavour and this step is critical to the taste of the Wu Yi tea. To stop the oxidation the tea is exposed to heat which is set to very high temperatures. Small operations that make Oolong tea and Wu Yi tea normally just fry the tea in a large pan. However, large companies that make Oolong complete this process by machines which can Shaq high quantities of Oolong tea leaves at once. This is more costly but will prove efficient while producing large amounts of tea. 5. Rouqing- At this point the Wu Yi leaves are rolled into strands before the next step of dehydration. The style in which the tea is rolled into doesn’t affect the taste of the tea very much. Wu Yi leaves can either be made into strands, clumps, bags, or hung. 6. Roast- Roasting the tea leaves is done with a very low heat. This is done so the Wu Yi tea leaves become dehydrated. This is the final step before the tea is prepared to be packaged and delivered. After the Wu long tea leaves become roasted the leaves are then graded from good to bad. The bad Wu Long tea leaves are separated out from the good ones. The bad Wu Long tea leaves will either become destroyed or sold at a cheaper price. The style in which the tea leaves are packaged depends on how the manufacturer wants the packaging to look. 6 simple steps is all it takes to make a great Chinese slimming tea. Prevent Inefections By Drinking Wu Yi TeaJune 24, 2008 on 6:51 pm | In wu yi tea | No CommentsIn recent studies carried out in universities across Boston medical schools there has been indication that drinking Wu Yi tea has proven an effective fight against infections. Immune T cells in the body recognise anti agents found in tumor bacteria, viruses and tumor cells. Once the body has been exposed to antiagents, the T cells remember their presence when exposed again which greatly increases your body’s immune system. Agents similar to the T cells have now been found in various ancient Chinese teas such as Wu Yi tea. The Wu Yi tea agents were able to mimic the T cells to remember how to respond to a similar antiagents even if the anit agents were bacterial or even viral. This is strong enough evidence to conclude that drinking Wu Yi tea and Wu Long tea helps to provide natural resistances to viruses and bacterial infections. Dr. Smith at the university of Alberta says that drinking Wu Yi Tea is also beneficial because the Wu Yi tea contains chemicals called catechins that greatly help to fight bacterial and viral activity. The desired levels of catechins can easily be obtained by drinking a cup of Wu Yi tea per day. Other ancient Chinese slimming teas have also been proven effective such as: Wu Long Tea, Green Tea, and Oolong tea. All of these teas contain the chemicals required to fight viral and bacterial activity and all it takes is simply drinking one cup of fat burning Wu Yi tea per day! Wu Yi Tea and Better Skin appearanceJune 24, 2008 on 3:29 pm | In wu yi tea | No CommentsAccording to a study by a cell biologist Dr. Stephen Tung determined that the polyphenols in wu yi, wu long and oolong tea helped eliminate free radicals which have been known to cause cancer by altering DNA. The Wu Yi Tea was also able to safeguard healthy cells while at the same time eliminating cancer cells. In one of Dr. Tung’s most recent studies he believes that EGCG which is most abundant in Wu Yi and Wu Long tea can reactivate dying skin cells. This just means that by simply drinking a cup of Wu Yi Tea or Wu Long Tea cells which have previously died in your skin would be brought back from the dead giving your skin a healthy and young feel to it. Wu Yi Tea has also been found able to reduce the effects of skin damage from the sun, wounds to the skin, ulcers, and wrinkles. Studies have also shown that WU Yi Tea and Green tea contain powerful antioxidants that fight harmful skin cells that only damage the way you look. The effects of Wu Long Tea is not limited to helping only internal and external organs. Studies have shown that drinking one or more cups of Wu Yi and Wu Long tea per day helps prevent damage from Ultraviolet Rays (UV Light) which can lead to skin cancer. When mice that were exposed to Wu Long tea as well as harmful sun rays the mice had a significantly lower chance of tumor growth or skin cancer growth. The mice that weren’t exposed to Wu Yi tea had a significantly greater chance of getting cancer or tumors. Antioxidants found in in Wu Yi Tea is at least 100 times more effective than taking normal vitamin C, Vitamin D and Vitamin E to help prevent the effects of cancer, aging, and harmful effects that our environment imposes on our bodies. Chinese slimming teas such as Wu Yi Tea have been known to help prevent obesity as well as makes your skin look cleaner and younger. To summarize this scientific study it has been proven that Wu Yi Tea, oolong, and Wu long tea were able to help greatly decrease cholesterol levels in the body.
Wu Yi Tea Vs Green TeaJune 24, 2008 on 2:12 pm | In wu yi tea | 1 CommentWu Yi, wu long, and oolong tea have been around for thousands of years and have been used by the people of China. These brands of tea are normally called traditional Chinese tea and are anywhere between black and green oxidation. This oxidation ranges from 10%-60%. Oolong tea is has been long believed to be extremely beneficial to health such as decreasing body fat, increasing energy levels, improve acne and your overall skin appearance, and reduce the signs of aging and any bad side effects. I know this sounds like a miracle drink but it has been proved scientifically be many universities to actually do the things listed above. Wu Yi Tea is gaining quite a hype in today’s culture because people are wanting to experience the benefits of Wu Yi Tea. So what can Wu Yi Tea do for me? According to a study by the Department of Applied Nutrition: We were interested in the effects of Wu Long Tea in comparison to that of green tea. To evaluate the effect of oolong tea on energy expenditure (EE) in comparison with green tea. The subjects were eleven healthy Japanese females (aged between 20 years and 25 years old with a body mass index (BMI) between 21.2 and 25.5) who each consumed three treatments in a crossover design: (1: water, 2: oolong tea, 3: green tea. Resting energy expenditure (REE) and EE after the consumption of the Oolong tea, green tea, and water for 120 minutes were measured using an indirect calorimeter. The cumulative increases of EE for 120 min were significantly increased 10% and 4% after the consumption of oolong tea and green tea. EE at 60 and 70 min were significantly higher after the consumption of oolong tea than after water, probability<0.05. These results suggest that oolong tea increases EE by its polymerized polyphenols. So we have some scientific proof that Oolong and Wu Yi tea can be beneficial to your health but this is only the beginning to our investigation. In future posts I will do more research with more evidence and more proof. Wu Yi Weight Loss Blog IntroductionJune 23, 2008 on 2:42 pm | In easy weight loss | 4 Comments
